RELAXING IN A EUROPEAN CAPITAL IS POSSIBLE:
DARE TO DISCOVER VADUZ!

Vaduz is a pint-sized town of Liechtenstein, the tiny country which is lost on the map between Switzerland and Austria and is generally known as a tax heaven. It is a city with little presence in european history and with a slight strategic economic and social level position. However, it is an enchanted place with magic where the time seems to stop. Its hypnotic and lush vegetation shape the most vividly green countryside perhaps you have ever seen in an European capital.

Visiting Vaduz, you cannot miss its beautiful medieval castle, constructed as a fortress as early as the 12th century. Walking along the paths that lead you to the hill on which it stands is an experience you will never forget. Ones on the top, you will discover a great view of the city and discern in the distance the Red House, a gabled-stairs tower built in the 19th century.

But, undoubtedly, it is in its own streets where the charm hides. In fact, I have to admit I lost my heart walking amongst people and their stunning little houses and shops. It is a delightful experience that will allow you the chance to go shopping, dine and explore the relaxation thanks to a long part of the city is pedestrianized and closed to cars.

Surely, Vaduz will be enough for a weekend trip, and, otherwise, you can always visit its Philatelic Museum, its Sky Museum or go in search of the wonders that surround the city, finding out its landscape and its unspoilt flora and fauna.

  1. Wow, I had no idea about even the existence of this place, and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed.
Seems so nice the fact that you can do tourism and also find relaxing places, times I travelled, I usually had to pick just one option.
Thanks to the pictures you posted, I assure that this is the most vividly green countryside I've ever seen, and in a capital! I thought that you only could see this kind of vegetation if you get lost in the woods, It amazes me that still exists cities that respect the environment and the nature at this level.
Thanks for the article! I promise I'll keep Vaduz in my mind next time I had to plan a trip.

  2. Thank you very much for your comment Pablo. The truth is that Vaduz is a little known city and is not too tourist. In fact, I do not know anyone who has been there. I discovered this place by chance. It was one of my stops on a long journey of 15 days around Europe and was tremendously impressive ... Despite being in very touristy and important places, Vaduz was one of the most impressed me. So simple and natural but so pure and homely. I hope you have the chance to find out and, if you have it, do not forget share your experience with me! ;)

  3. A hidden gem in the heart of old Europe!

But it's very rich, so it must be expensive, I guess?

  4. You're right Driscoll. The disadvantage of Liechtenstein is that is one of the most expensive countries in the world. In this sense, the best time to visit it is between seasons (April-May and September-October), because, due to de fact that there is less tourism, it is cheaper.
